How do I stop AI making things up about my company?
Give it real sources to answer from and require citations, so an unsupported claim is visible rather than plausible.
Why it happens
Asked something about your company with no access to your company, a model produces the most plausible answer rather than admitting it cannot know. The output is fluent, specific and wrong, which is the worst combination.
Grounding it in real retrieved content changes the failure mode: instead of inventing, it answers from what it found, and where it found nothing it can say so.
Citations are the practical fix
A cited answer is not automatically correct. What it is, is checkable: you can open the thread or document it came from and see whether it says what the answer claims.
Indexbrain attaches evidence to every knowledge entry and cites sources in answers, and detects and strips citations that do not correspond to real retrieved evidence before the answer is returned.
Every skill run also keeps a step-by-step record of each tool call and result, so an answer can be retraced rather than trusted.
Correcting it should stick
Any system that re-extracts knowledge on a schedule will eventually overwrite a human correction with the machine's version, unless it is built not to.
In Indexbrain a human-corrected entry is never silently overwritten by reprocessing. A conflicting new fact is recorded as a conflict instead, which surfaces the disagreement rather than resolving it quietly in the wrong direction.
