Hello from Indexbrain

I want to start with the actual reason this exists, because it's a small, specific, slightly embarrassing thing.

I kept explaining my own company to an AI, over and over, every single day. The deploy process. The pricing exception I'd made for one client. The reason a feature got cut two days before it shipped. None of it was complicated. It just lived nowhere except my own head, and every time I opened Claude or ChatGPT to help with something, I had to hand all of it over again, from scratch, like we'd never spoken before. Because we hadn't. Not really. Every session was a stranger.

At some point I stopped treating that as normal. It's not a small inconvenience if you actually add it up. It's real hours, every week, spent re-teaching a tool something it should already know, and it puts a quiet ceiling on what you're ever willing to hand that tool in the first place. You don't delegate anything that actually matters to an assistant that forgets everything the moment you close the tab.

So I started building the thing I actually wanted: something that sits between the tools where my company's real knowledge already lives, Slack, email, GitHub, meeting notes, and whatever AI agent I happen to be using that day, and just knows. Not a bigger prompt to paste. Not another wiki nobody has time to update. Something that reads what actually happens, figures out what's worth remembering, and hands it over automatically, so the next conversation doesn't start at zero.

That's Indexbrain. The company brain that makes every AI agent smarter, is the short version. The longer version is just: I got tired of being the only place my own company's knowledge lived, and I built a way to stop being a single point of failure for it.

I'll be honest about where things stand. This is early. It's a solo founder project, built one real piece at a time, tested against real data, my own company's Notion, GitHub, and Slack, because I'd rather ship something that actually works for one real company than something that looks good in a demo and falls apart the first time someone relies on it. There's no pricing page yet. There will be, once I've actually talked to enough early users to price it honestly instead of guessing.

This blog is where I'll write about the actual problem, not just the product. Why AI memory and a bigger context window aren't the same thing. What it actually takes to build a knowledge system that gets more accurate over time instead of drifting into noise. What breaks when five different clients' context bleeds together in the same AI conversation, and how that actually gets fixed. Some of it will be useful even if you never touch Indexbrain. That's fine. I'd rather write something true than something that only makes sense once you're already a customer.

If any of this sounds like your own daily tax of re-explaining your company to a tool that should already know it, I'd genuinely like to hear about it. You can see what we're building at indexbrain.online, and if you want to just tell me what's broken about how you're using AI right now, I'm listening.

Thanks for reading the first one.
